Origin of Okoume plywood
Aucoumea klaineana, or Okoume, is an African hardwood that can only be found in Africa’s Congo, Gabon and Equatorial Guinea. The tree grows in close-packed trunks and can grow to more than 3-4 meters tall. It also grows quickly so regeneration is usually not a concern. The name Okoume Mahogany is a misnomer, because it is not real mahogany. By law, no Okoume diary can leave the country of Gabon, where Joubert’s Okoume comes from. The veneer factory must be in Gabon, where it can benefit the local economy. No more than 7 percent of Joubert’s Okoume can be used annually to ensure sustainability.

- AB standard: Slightly lower quality than AA, it is the second choice for customers who need to reduce costs and is good for production costs.
- BB standard: The core and surface of the board are of BB quality, usually this type will be used for internal purposes, rarely applied to the external surface. Or repaint, re-craft into your own, personalized product.
